Ayrshire Connect

Whiting Bay Golf Club

Whiting Bay Golf Course is a hidden gem of a course, set above the village on the south east coast of Arran and it was founded in 1895.

Although quite short, the course is a fair test for golfers of all abilities and features some particularly challenging par 3s.

Enjoy the spectacular panoramic views across the Firth of Clyde to the Ayrshire coast and to Holy Isle.

The course plays 4,092 yards off the yellow tees, SSS 61, par 63.  The Ladies' tees play 3,986 yards, SSS 64, par 64. Though short, the course features some very challenging par 3s and, set on a gentle hillside, provides spectacular sea views from almost every hole. The first four holes climb gently up the hillside to a plateau, where holes five to ten weave their way among the heather and gorse.  The eleventh hole marks the very top of the course, after which a descent commences from twelve to fifteen.  For the final three holes, one must climb up a little once more, before descending the eighteenth to the clubhouse.

The patio at the clubhouse provides a great spot to partake of a rewarding drink whilst watching other players putt out at the eighteenth.
