There are easily accessible routes to get to Ayrshire when flying into Glasgow or Edinburgh with regular bus and train services. Prestwick Airport has direct train to Irvine running up to two times an hour taking less than 15 minutes all in. Irvine train station is situated right next to the Rivergate shopping centre, less than a 10-minute walk to the towns centre.
Access to Irvine by car is fairly simple via the motorway, following the M77 from Glasgow and M8 from Edinburgh before joining onto the A77 and A71 straight to Irvine.
Irvine has it all, whether you’re looking for a quiet, calm get away or night out on the town. Play a few rounds of golf or go on a shopping spree and finish up with a drink and a delicious meal from one of the many bars and restaurants. Or visit locations of the town’s rich history, such as the oldest active Burn’s Club in Scotland.
