Largs Golf Club

In essence, Largs is a members' golf club serving the local community and surrounding area. We have a marvellous asset, both in terms of clubhouse location and course quality, and we are delighted to share that asset with a wider audience. The chalet-style clubhouse, as you will see from the various photos on this webpage, offers breathtaking views over the Clyde Estuary. The venue is becoming increasingly popular for weddings and other family occasions, club and society meetings and seminars.

The course, part of the historic Kelburn Castle Estate until the 1980s, is parkland but with strong coastal influences. A highly motivated greens team maintains the course in a condition that is indicated in the annual Sports Turf Research Unit as “best in the west”.

The course measures 6150 yards and winds through mature woodland placing a premium on shot making. Greens, developed to USGA standard, are complimented much more often than they are mastered. There is also an abundance of wildlife, including buzzards, herons, swallows and swifts plus the odd bewildered deer that literally springs into view occasionally. The course lies at the centre of probably the most significant square mile of sport in Scotland. There are two marinas across the road, Archery and other field sports in the neighbouring Kelburn Country Centre, Bowling next to the southern boundary at Fairlie Bowling Club, Marine Sports at the Cumbrae centre a mile across the water, and a multitude of other activities at the nearby SportScotland National Centre in the town.

All in all Largs Golf Club provides a fascinating and rewarding experience for the ever increasing body of visitors, whether for golf, social or business reasons.
