Gilmartins Bakery

Gilmartin's Bakery is a cafe and artisan bakery producing sourdough bread and artisanal cakes, cookies and pastries on a daily basis in Stewarton, Ayrshire. A family-run business with a small but perfectly formed team, Gilmartin's also offers bespoke birthday cakes, catering and has plans to run sourdough classes in the near future.

Started in May 2019, Gilmartin's Bakery is a modern artisan bakery specialising in fresh sourdough sandwiches and delicious freshly-made cakes, cookies and pastries. We stock a range of local and seasonal produce as well as homeware from Studio Arhoj, Maileg and Garden Trading, and flowers by Fiori Glasgow. We also stock lots of excellent local produce including Mossgiel milk, Corrie Mains eggs, Dunlop cheese and locally-made chocolate by Ramstane farm. We have always been conscious of the environmental impact of our business and for this reason we use only compostable packaging wherever possible and strive to reduce waste. You'll find bags of used coffee grounds outside once we close (great for compost!) and mini jams jars at the door, great for craft projects. We try to reflect the seasons and the community in all that we do, and throughout lockdown have operated as a grocer, delivering food and cakes to our lovely customers far and wide. We have grand plans for further cheese and wine evenings in the future and bakery classes once restrictions allow, and Hallowe'en and Christmas events too. We welcome dogs to the premises (sometimes we even make them breakfast!) and we're proud to be part of the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme. Restrictions allowing, we usually have a range of wooden toys for children to play with while you enjoy your meal uninterrupted. We look forward to welcoming you in 2021 and beyond for great, locally-sourced and homemade food and delicious cakes!
